Meet Mark Menendez!

Mark Menendez

As a traveling teacher, I have taught throughout the southeast United States, offering instruction in drawing in various mediums:  pencil, charcoal, pastel, color pencil, pen & ink;  and I’ve taught painting in watercolor, acrylic and oils.  My North Light Books art instruction videos are among the highest-rated on their website. My unique classes are a place where anyone can express their creativity and individuality, and enjoy the friendship of wonderful encouraging fellow-students. From beginner, to intermediate, to advanced students, as well as the many young artists’, all are welcome.

For the last eight years I have had the privilege of offering art classes at Gilmer Arts, and have enjoyed the company and support from everyone. Come join us and begin a fantastic journey exploring the artist that lies within!

Meet Tony Szep

Tony SzepFor as long as I can remember, the Arts have been an important part of my life. Singing was my first love, but early on I developed a deep appreciation of the visual arts, and the importance of all Art in enhancing our day to day lives.

As an active potter, a member of the Gilmer Arts Community Chorus and Gilmer Arts Singers, my commitment, and support for the Arts, continues to grow and to add satisfaction to my life, and if you let it in, it will do the same for you!

Meet Jack Bellinato

Singer, songwriter, and entertainer Jack Bellinato has become a regular at Gilmer Arts Acoustic Blends, stating that it gives him and opportunity to express himself in music’s purest form. “With my acoustic guitar, a microphone, stage and a appreciative audience, performing at acoustic blends has ben a rewarding and fulfilling experience.” Now locally famous, after making the cover of “The Best of Ellijay”, Jack and his wife Ginny have enjoyed getting involved and meeting new friends through Gilmer Arts.

 Meet Jonathan Raymer

I support Gilmer Arts because our local arts and heritage matter.  We live in a beautiful area rich in cultural traditions, unspoiled countryside, and historic landmarks.  It is both an honor and responsibility to contribute to the public awareness and accessibility to both local arts and heritage for this and future generations.  I support Gilmer Arts because it is active in the community, working without political or religious affiliation, to assure the preservation and advancement of our local arts and heritage.

Meet George & Edna McClellan

Through Gilmer Arts Edna and I have established a solid base of friends that share similar cultural interests. In our opinion, the value of the Gilmer Arts venue to the local community cannot be overestimated. I was happy to serve five years on the Gilmer Arts Board of Directors, and now that Edna has retired she has become very active, supporting the auction and volunteering when she can.  We love it!
