Permanent Display

Indian Artifacts currently on display.

The Heritage Museum of Gilmer County was dedicated on November 4, 2006.  The Heritage Committee has been gathering ideas and items for almost a year.  The permanent collection will be exclusively Gilmer items, whereas the rotating exhibits will not be exclusive to the county.  It begins with prehistoric dwellers, who moved into this area 12,000 years ago or more.  We have artifacts which are 10,000 years old.  It is appropriate for ages 8 and up. The museum is located in the annex of the GAHA building at 207 Dalton Street.
