Happy Hour Sip ‘n Paint classes for Winter Quarter so you don’t have to drive after dark! A little paint, a glass of wine & a lot of fun! No experience needed, this is all about fun. Come solo or with friends or a significant other! Leave with your finished masterpiece and a great memory! You’ll receive step-by-step instruction from a degreed art instructor and leave with your finished masterpiece and a great memory. Although everyone paints the same picture, each comes out very unique! $35 includes supplies & one glass of wine (or you can BYOW). Additional glasses for $3 donation. Our monthly series of kids’ drawing classes are a great skill-builder and a fun time for kids ages 6-10. Art Instructor Rachel Beth Hines steps the kids through age-appropriate drawings, as they learn skills like shading, perspective and more using hard and soft pencils. All supplies provided. No experience needed and a guaranteed great time!

Join us for the Opening Reception of our 2016 Annual Spring Juried Group Art Exhibition on Sat. Feb. 13th from 5-7pm. Meet the artists and learn about their work, while enjoying refreshments and mingling with like-minded art lovers. Awards totaling $850 to be presented at 6pm. Free and the public is invited. The juror is John Stanford, President of the Southern Appalachian Artists Guild. The Exhibition runs through March 18th.

Learn to draw anything with nationally noted wildlife artist, Alan R. Young! Alan instructs at the John C. Campbell Folk School and is particularly well-known in the South for his ‘Birds of the Appalachian’ illustrations. His work is featured in national publications and resides in collections across the US & Europe. Alan will help you develop skills in perspective, horizons, vanishing points, textures, and contrasts. Sheets of sketch paper and #2 pencils will be provided, but the purchase of an 18 x 24 sketchbook (80# weight) is suggested. Min. 6 students/class, so don’t delay your enrollment! Call (706) 635-5605 by one week prior to class date. Class repeats 3rd Wednesdays (Jan. 20th, Feb. 17th, Mar. 16th) and you can sign up for one or all.

Your Imagination is Your Only Limit! Come paint a wineglass with local artist Annie Oakley. Annie will offer a design to step you through, or you independent types can paint your own design. The sky’s the limit! You may also enjoy a glass of wine during class ($3/glass suggested donation or you can BYOW). You’ll leave class with instructions for drying and baking the finish on at home. $25/23 members ~ Includes one wineglass & all materials to paint it. Additional wineglasses available for a fee if time allows.
Happy Feet! Art is fun and important for kids’ brain development so each month kids of all ages, from 5-17, come together at Gilmer Arts to create a different art project, building a variety of skills. Degreed Art instructor Rachel Beth Hines has taught many classes to children and adults at a variety of Michael’s stores & other locations, and guarantees a great and educational experience. January’s project is penguin collages! $22/20 members ~ Includes all materials.
