Try these popular Step-by-Step Watercolor Classes! Our wonderful instructors make it easy by providing everything you need! Just show up and you’ll leave with your beautiful finished watercolor painting! Classes run 9:30am-3:30pm each day. One day classes are perfect for beginners to try out this medium! Gilmer Arts is pleased to announce a rare opportunity for local intermediate and advanced pastel and oil artists. M. Camille Day (Candy to her friends) is a juried member of the Oil Painters of America, the Pastel Society of America, and the American Impressionist Society. She is a Signature Member of the Southern Appalachian Artist Guild, a Signature Member of the Women Painters of the Southeast and most recently, the Southeastern Pastel Society. In each class she will include a Demo + Lesson + Individual Instruction. Participants will bring their own projects, supplies, and a snack, if desired. Mon. Camille Day, juror for the Gilmer Arts 2015 Spring Art Exhibition will present a painting demonstration in oil on the morning of February 13th at Gilmer Arts using her plein air setup. Her discussion will include the issues and experiences of painting on location and thoughts on how to bring back studies and photos to use as a reference in the studio. She will also include her process for painting, the palette she uses and other techniques learned as a result of her experiences as a life-long painter. Enroll now at 706-635-5605. Feb. 19th Paint Party 6-9pm This class is for people who think they can’t paint or who just want to have fun. Step by step instructions for anyone, we can do it together! All materials included and you’ll leave with a finished acrylic painting on canvas! This is a really fun opportunity to see what you can do, even if you always thought you couldn’t draw or paint! No artistic skill required! Mature teens are also welcome. $28/$25 Members. 2nd or 3rd Thursdays Most Months

Professional fine artist and travel teaching artist Prof. Mark Menendez will be your personal “Art Coach” and offers over 30 years’ experience teaching with quick wit, patience and generous encouragement. This is an open studio class for independent types … work on your own project at your own pace, bring your own supplies and subject matter. A little paint, a glass of wine & a lot of fun! Artist Vicki Wagoner presents a new class you’ve been asking for! No experience needed, this is all about fun. Come by yourself or bring your girlfriends or significant other! Leave with your finished masterpiece!
Includes supplies and one glass of wine. Additional glasses available for $3 donation. You may also BYOW (bring your own wine) but no other types of alcohol (including beer) are permitted. Oil painting is great fun and anyone can do it! Instructor Kathy Mock has been painting for over 40 years and will guide you as you create your painting of a gorgeous landscape. You will learn everything from the preparation of the canvas through completion of your painting. $10 Supply Fee per class will provide you with a palette of paints to use and you may borrow brushes. Della’s Diner is a hilarious musical comedy soap opera full of non-stop surprises, twists and turns. This fabulous show serves up a delicious romp of outrageous Southern characters and show-stopping tunes. Della is the sassy, big-hearted cafe owner who dispenses love, wisdom and moral advice to the parade of oddballs who come and go from her cozy diner on Morning Glory Mountain. Della’s daughter returns from New York where she made her national singing debut on The Tonight Show and she is shocked to learn that her arch-nemesis, country music diva Connie Sue Day, has been released from prison and is coming back to town. Meanwhile, Della’s husband is digging a bomb shelter and preparing to face off with the daughter’s husband , Sheriff Ronnie Frank. Hilarity ensues with fun and laughter on the menu as Della tries to keep her family from killing each other!
