The John Jorgenson Quintet has achieved the pinnacle of success with a Grammy win, and creates a unique musical experience that equally enthralls the most discerning and the casual music fan.  The groups’ style has been called “gypsy jazz” after the dynamic string-driven swing created by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grapelli in 1930’s Paris.  However, John’s compositions draw in elements from Latin, Romanian, Classical, Rock and Greek music, so “21st Century World Music” is perhaps a more apt description.

Virtuoso John Jorgenson is known for his blistering guitar licks and mastery of broad musical palettes.   He earned a reputation as a  world-class musician collaborating with Elton John, Luciano Pavarotti, Bonnie Raitt and Bob Dylan.  He is regularly featured on a guitar, sax, clarinet, bouzouki, pedal steel, mandolin, and in vocals, and has contributed to numerous platinum-selling and Grammy-winning albums.   John has two albums and one live performance DVD being released in 2014. More Info  7:30 p.m. at the Ellijay Elementary School Auditorium at 32 McCutchen St., Ellijay, Ga. 30540
