En plein air is a French expression which means “in the open air” and is particularly used to describe the act of painting outdoors, like the Impressionists did.
Ever wanted to paint outdoors, but don’t know where to start? Camille Day (Candy to her friends) will take you on a short plein air outing around town in Ellijay and show you how to choose your site, deal with distractions and review the supplies you’ll need. She’ll do a demo to get you started on your own new adventures. Candy is a juried member of the Oil Painters of America, the Pastel Society of America, and the American Impressionist Society. She is a Signature Member of the Southern Appalachian Artist Guild, a Signature Member of the Women Painters of the Southeast and most recently, the Southeastern Pastel Society.
