Dana Henderson teaches basic playing skills, so that students may take home the ability to play their dulcimer. You DO NOT have to read music. If you can read numbers, use all fingers on your dominant hand and strum with your other, you can learn this neat instrument which comes with a lifetime guarantee of fun. Gilmer Arts Gallery proudly announces the expansion of the B.E.S.T (Bringing Ellijay Sensational Talent) Series to include the Visual Arts. Our inaugural “B.E.S.T. Art” Gallery Exhibition features Ashley L. Schick and opens November 7th 2014.
Ms. Schick creates works on paper and artists’ books. The imagery in her work spans from natural and organic forms to industrial infrastructure and debris. She currently works as the Studio Program Director for One Love Generation, a non-profit empowering teens to inspire positive change through art, service, and awareness.
The Opening Reception for the “Art of Ashley Schick” is Friday, Nov. 7th from 5-7pm. Meet the artist and learn about her unique art, while enjoying refreshments and mingling with like-minded art lovers. The Reception is free and open to the public. Reavealing Your Inner Masterpiece on Canvas

Experience epiphanies of creativity, healing and transformation in a gentle way by painting with hands on paper. No artistic ability required. Artist/Instructor Vicki Wagoner will help you discover your gifts of creativity, interpersonal connection and playfulness. Be a “kid” again!

You will learn everything from the preparation of the canvas through completion of your painting. $10 Supply Fee per class will provide you with a palette of paints to use and you may borrow brushes. Move toward performing by learning to play with others in a no-stress environment. Bring your instrument & song ideas to our “First Level” Sessions. Develop stage presence & build confidence while having fun & making new friends. All skill levels welcome, but this is designed for those who can play at least basic chords and songs. Free Class. Gilmer Arts community outreach has partnered with the Gilmer Senior Center to offer a project-based art program designed to meet the needs of “senior seniors”. Class is held at the Senior Center on 2nd Wednesdays most months. Next class is September 10th. The Senior Center is located at 111 N.
